If a wound doesn’t improve after four weeks, or does not heal within eight weeks, it is considered a non-healing wound and specialized wound care may be necessary. Non-healing wounds can cause deeper skin erosion, infection and complications which can be damaging to organs and limbs, and even be life threatening. MVS Wound Care & Hyperbarics offers specialized, outpatient care for non-healing wounds and other injuries, including hyperbaric oxygen therapy. Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, also called HBOT, is a painless, medical therapy that enhances the body’s natural healing process by breathing in 100% oxygen in a pressurized chamber. It’s used as a treatment for a wide variety of medical conditions, and is usually a part of an overall medical care plan.

Medicare Advantage Plans
Most Medicare Advantage plans combine Medicare Part A, Part B and Part D coverage into one plan. With these plans, members can take advantage of additional benefits, like hearing, fitness, and more.

Medicare Special Needs Plans
Special Needs plans are Medicare Advantage plans that help meet the needs of people who have unique financial or health care needs.

Medicare Supplement Insurance Plans
Any standardized Medicare supplement insurance plan helps with some of the out-of-pocket costs that Original Medicare doesn’t pay. It also offers features such as no referrals needed and no network restrictions*. You may choose to also enroll in a Part D prescription drug plan.

*If your doctor accepts Medicare patients.

Medicare Prescription Drug Plans
A Part D plan offers prescription drug coverage, which helps pay for some Medicare-covered prescription drugs. This plan may be used along with Original Medicare and with Medicare supplement insurance plans.

GBMC HealthCare

GBMC HealthCare is comprised of Greater Baltimore Medical Center (GBMC), GBMC Health Partners, and Gilchrist.

GBMC is a 257 licensed bed facility (acute and sub-acute care) located on a beautiful suburban campus that handles more than 23,000 admissions and over 52,000 emergency room visits annually. Since its founding in 1965, GBMC HealthCare’s accomplishments have validated the vision of GBMC’s founders to combine the best of community and university-level medicine. GBMC’s main campus also includes three medical office buildings — Physicians Pavilion East, Physicians Pavilion West and the William E. Kahlert Physicians Pavilion North.

In addition to its main campus located in Towson, GBMC Health Partners primary care practices can be found throughout the community with extended and weekend hours in convenient locations including Hunt Manor, Hunt Valley, Owings Mills, Texas Station, Perry Hall, Joppa Road and Jarrettsville.

Gilchrist provides medical care, counseling and support to patients and their families at every stage of serious illness, even well before hospice is needed. Gilchrist serves more than 7,600 patients each year—in homes, residential care communities and other medical settings, and at our three inpatient hospice centers in Towson, Howard County and Baltimore. In addition, Gilchrist provides grief counseling and other bereavement services to 6,500 families throughout central Maryland.

Fueled by the overwhelming generosity of our community, The Promise Project will bring two historic advancements to GBMC—a new Inpatient Facility and The Sandra R. Berman Pavilion, the new home of the Sandra and Malcolm Berman Cancer Institute at GBMC. These initiatives will not only modernize GBMC’s facilities but extend our promise for generations to come.

Inpatient Facility – This new 3-story addition to the main hospital will feature two acute care units containing 60 patient rooms. The new patient rooms are twice the size and feature advanced technology that will benefit patients, families, and medical teams.

Cancer Center – The Sandra R. Berman Pavilion will become the new home of the Sandra and Malcolm Berman Cancer Institute at GBMC, and will consolidate all of our cancer care services for the convenience of our oncology patients.
